High Five For Friday
Well fancy meeting you here! I'm sure you've been wondering where I've been for the past week - MOVING that's where. Yep, we moved into our own place over the weekend and I am currently in the throws of unpacking. It is quite the glamorous life I'm leading right now, which explains why I haven't updated you at all this week. I was doing it to keep your green eyed monster at bay, trust me you would have been so jealous of all of the outfits I wore this week. So without further ado, here are some awesome moments from my week.
1.) We went to a pumpkin/Halloween festival with my friend Suzanne and I snapped this fun pic of my two favorite people. I love Tolar's relationship with Baby K, they have such a good time together.
2.) While unpacking, I found this gem and couldn't just keep it to myself. Some things never change, I often have this same face in photos taken nowadays. Also, note the gum.
3.) We moved! Yep, that made for a pretty awesome moment. And while I don't have any photos of our house just yet (picture a disaster area with a ton of boxes), I do have this really cute photo of Baby K walking along the dirt road to Grammaroo's house.
5.) And here are the finished pumpkins.
Now go enjoy your Halloween and eat a ton of candy.
I'm linking up this post with Lauren Elizabeth and September Farm.

4.) We carved pumpkins with Baby K for the first time (last year she was too little and we carved them while she slept) and she had a blast. Although she was much more interested in eating everything (gross) than actually doing any carving.

High Five For Friday
Whew! I am so tired and ready for the weekend. We are getting ready to move into our own place, so this has been a week of painting, packing and unpacking. Even during the chaos, I still had an awesome week.
1.) Before we painted Baby K's room, Tolar had an awesome idea to write Bible verses all over the walls. To me, when we painted over them, it was like we were sealing them in and protecting them. This was an amazing idea. We both selected verses that mean a lot to us and that we have prayed over our sweet baby. This is definitely something I will want to do in every house we live.
2.) My friend Rebecca took some fab pictures at my nephew's birthday party back in September. I was going through the photos this week and fell in love with this one.
3.) We attended story time at the library this week and had so much fun. Baby K got to hear fun stories about animals, throw scarves around, sing songs and make music with shakers. Story time is going to be a regular event for us!
4.) I got an AMAZING fall package from my partner in the #FallFunSwap that me and my friend Colleen hosted on instagram. Megan seriously spoiled me!!!
5.) Bath time is so fun, especially with a spike on your head.

Going to the Pumpkin Patch
Having a child is fun for so many reasons, there are way too many to count.
One thing on that list of fun reasons is that holidays REALLY get celebrated, which I am perfectly fine with. For the second year in a row, we visited a pumpkin patch with Baby K to get into the Halloween spirit. She could do so much more this year (run around, pick up a pumpkin, ride some rides, pet animals) and we had a blast.
My parents joined us at the pumpkin patch and got in on the fun too. In fact, I think my Dad had just as much fun as Baby K did. We took entirely too many photos, which I am not going to apologize for. My future self will thank me for carefully documenting my child's life.

Forever a Brown and Black Fan
I am a neutral loving fool, no doubt about that. I love that neutrals go with everything (that's why they are neutrals), including each other. And something about brown and black together, I think it's such a classic look. I will probably be rocking brown and black well into my 80's.
One thing that really makes pairing neutrals fun is that you can add accessories to give a pop of color. This red striped scarf goes great with brown and black. And gives me some extra color for the gorgeous fall days.
And here is a tip for you - this dress that I'm wearing is actually a sleeveless dress. I love transitioning my clothes between seasons, it really helps me stretch my wardrobe (and allow me to wear my favorite items all year long). By adding a cardigan, scarf and boots, this dress is now ready to be worn in cooler temps.
What is a way that you like to transition your clothing between seasons?
Dress: Old Navy.
Cardigan: Gap (similar).
Boots: Target (similar).
Scarf: Wal-Mart.
Earrings: Target.

List of lasts
The last...
Thing I ate: Pumpkin Oreos (oh yeah!).
Song I sang for Baby K: The Itsy Bitsy Spider. The super speedy version - she thinks its hilarious when I sing it really fast.
Picture I took with my iphone: I actually had to use Algebra yesterday! I was trying to resize a picture manually and figure out the proportions, so I pulled out the old "find x" equation.
Time I actually used Algebra outside of yesterday: maybe 10th grade in Algebra 2?
Website I visited: The Roanoke Times. I want to get the Sunday paper for the coupons.
E-mail I sent: To our photographer; we are having family photos taken in a couple weeks and I am so excited! We've always been blessed to have amazing photographers in our life and I am so thankful to have found Whitney from Shine Photography here in the New River Valley.
Thing I watched on tv: Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel. And strangely, I was very hungry while watching.
Show I watched on Netflix: I'm currently going through Season 3 of Hart of Dixie. I love that show and actually pretend I'm living that life now that I live in Dublin, VA after living in Northern Virginia.
Time I paid $2.77/a gallon for gas: That would be on Sunday! Woop woop! I don't know the last time I paid less than $3 a gallon.
Thing I bought for myself: An awesome dress from the LOFT. I can wear it with boots, with heels, with sandals; it is such a versatile dress! Thinking I might wear it in our family photos.

Weekend Getaway
For the first time since Baby K was born (and actually since our Baby Moon in May 2013), Tolar and I were able to take a little getaway just the two of us. Tolar was on fall break at the end of last week, so it was the perfect time for us to escape. We didn't want to go too far because we didn't want to spend all of our time driving, so we ended up heading to Charlotte, NC which is about 2 1/2 hours south of where we currently live. It is a city that I spent a little bit of time visiting during my college years, but Tolar has only passed through. So off we went.
We spent a few days relaxing, exploring the city, going out to eat at places we probably wouldn't take Baby K, sleeping in and just enjoying each other. We checked out the movie Gone Girl (it was fantastic, even after reading the book I still really liked it!), ate at an amazing French Bakery called Amelie's, attended an improv comedy show, had yummy burgers at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar, toured the city and happened upon a BBQ festival and visited the Billy Graham Library (the grounds are gorgeous!). It was quite awesome to take a little trip away. Baby K was well cared for. Tolar's Mom and Step Dad took her to Pinehurst, NC and they had a blast too!
Now enjoy this embarrassing amount of photos from our weekend, including some shots of Baby K's weekend too. After all, aren't weekends away best told in pictures?
