Philadelphia in Pictures

Thursday, October 3, 2013

Last week Tolar had to work in Philadelphia and since I was still on maternity leave, Baby K and I got to travel with him. Who knew that Philly was such a quick trip from D.C.? Certainly not this girl. I honestly never realized just how close we were to Philly Cheese Steak goodness.

For the first two days, Baby K and I hung out at the hotel and then got to tour around Philadelphia in the afternoon and at night with Tolar. Our last day in the city was a complete tourist day for us all and we had a blast. From exploring the Reading Terminal Market to climbing the Rocky stairs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art to enjoying my first cheese steak at Pat’s and finally seeing the Liberty Bell, we really enjoyed our entire trip. I discovered two very important things while on this trip: 1.) Philadelphia has RIDICULOUS prices for parking garages. The city makes parking in D.C. seem cheap (Hey Kate – twenty dolla is a deal!). 2.) I did NOT know what the importance of the Liberty Bell was, all I knew was that it was cracked. Rest assured I figured out the importance of the bell and Tolar and I came home with a lot less cash in our pockets.

For the first time since we have been married, I was the cameraman on the trip. So enjoy a lot of pictures of Tolar and Baby K and a few of me. And apologies in advance of the many photos of Baby K in her ErgoBaby carrier, I just couldn’t resist taking them all because she was so stinkin’ cute.

  2. I had no idea Philly was so close to DC. After watching the Philly Cheesesteak truck on Food Network's Food Truck Race, I' tempted to make a quick trip up there myself. This looks like a great weekend getaway.

  4. I love this! You guys are so cute! If you ever make it to Philly again you should do the Cheesesteak Challenge, one from Pats, one from Geno's and see which you think is best :)!

  6. I'm envious! This has been on my to-do list for several summers. It's now on my 1001 in 101 list so it WILL be happening come spring! Pat's is a must-go I've heard.
